Why Charitable Support Is Essential
Share Medical Center Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This designation allows for charitable revenue, necessary to sustain Share Medical Center's health care mission in the community. SMC provides many important services that are uncompensated, free education in the community, and charity care for those in need. And as reimbursement for health care services decreases, contributions to the Foundation are more important than ever. Gifts to Share Medical Center Foundation are deductible for tax purposes to the full extent allowed by the law.

Most donations to Share Medical Center Foundation are made by individuals. Many supporters are people who are grateful for the care they or their family members received as patients. Other gifts come from the medical center physicians, and employees. SMCF receives widespread support from members of the community, local businesses, and private foundations.

Tribute Gifts – Gifts That Care
To remember - Your gift in memory of a loved one is a lasting memorial. At a time of loss and sadness, it is a way for you to show love and respect, and to offer hope for the future. Your memorial gift to the Foundation is a meaningful remembrance. You can invite others to give by including these words in the obituary notice: “In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Share Medical Center Foundation, PO Box 727, Alva, Oklahoma, 73717.”

To honor – You can make a tribute gift to recognize a special occasion or accomplishment such as a birthday, marriage, graduation, or recovery from illness. You can express your thoughtfulness at holiday time, a wedding anniversary, or the birth of a child. These gifts may bestow an honor on a caring, compassionate physician or nurse, and employers could use them to recognize employees on special occasions.
