| These days, healthcare providers and nursing homes in particular are relying more and more on the support of volunteers to help provide meaningful activities for their residents. Share Convalescent Home recently took a moment to show appreciation for their volunteers with dinner and small gifts.
Some of Share’s volunteers have been lending their hearts and talents for many, many years. Whether helping with games and activities or providing entertainment, the volunteers help to bring joy and happiness to the nursing home residents. Jean Ann Rose, Share Director of Volunteers, comments, “They’re all so helpful and very special to me, but their biggest impact is with our residents.”
Below is a list of volunteers who attended the dinner and their role within the nursing home.
Don Penrod, Harlen Penrod, Edie Dunkin, Peggie Penrod, Eleanor Pellerin, Charlie Pellerin, and Ivan Rose assist with bingo each week.
Jerry & Kay Williams sing for the residents once a month,
Velma Forrest and Linda Constantin regularly share Bible stories with the residents.
Petunia Garden Club, represented by their president, Barbara Faulkner, keeps a centerpiece on the table in the lobby every month.
Neva Wilhite plays the piano for entertainment at the birthday party each month.
There are a number of opportunities for folks to volunteer at the Share Convalescent Home. Anyone interested should contact Jean Ann Rose at (580) 327-2800 ext. 2790.
