Each employee is eligible to take the Workplace Wellness assessment once they have been employed for 90 days. Each employee can be reassessed every 6 months. This assessment must be scheduled with the Physical Therapy Department.
Upon completion of the assessment, each employee is awarded a Six (6) month membership to the J.R. Holder Wellness Center at NWOSU, Alva, OK.
Other activities within the Workplace Wellness Program are as follows:
- Lunch-n-Learns from NW Technology Center (topics include: nutrition, exercise, emotions, stress, body fat…)
- Wellness Newsletters
- Wellness Outings (bowling, a night at the ARC, movie night)
- Wellness Challenges (Great Weight-off, Fitness Challenge, Walk-this-weigh)
- Tobacco Cessation Partnership Agreements
- Annual well checkups paid at 100% by SMC Group Health Insurance Plan (this would include lab work, xrays or other wellness related testing)
